Bio

Christina Marie was born and raised in the Bay Area and started practicing yoga in 2011 as a form of exercise then later discovered the healing benefits of the ancient tradition as she served as her mom’s caregiver. Yoga became her respite. In the midst of uncertainty at home and stress at work, the mat became her safe place to focus only on her breath in her body. In an effort to deepen her practice, she completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program at Square One Yoga Collective in 2016 and started teaching shortly after. Christina is so grateful for this journey and looks forward to holding a space that honors students right where they are.Christina believes that the body is intuitively intelligent. When care and attention are directed toward the body, breath, sensations, thoughts and feelings the possibility to transform becomes accessible. Her flow classes focus on alignment, encouraging students to explore mindful awareness and self-inquiry cultivating resilience, strength and flexibility as well as inviting relaxation into the body. Classes incorporate meditation, chanting, pranayama, asanas, flowing movement sequences and music. It is her hope that each student leaves class feeling strong with a deeper connection and appreciation of themselves.Outside of yoga, Christina has over 14 years of experience in the biotechnology industry with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Professional Master of Biotechnology and is currently completing coursework toward a PhD in Mind-Body Medicine specializing in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. She is also an integrative wellness & grief coach who is certified with the National Board of Health & Wellness Coaching. Enjoying food with family and friends makes her the happiest. She also has a thing for altoids tins and tea :)It is Christina's intention to hold a space for embodied experiences where the heart and mind are at home in the body. Love yourself exactly as you are, right now.
